GENERAL FEATURES

The worm gear based mechanical screw jack is one of the most economical and efficient mechanism for lifting and lowering loads as well as push-pull applications. It can be used as a single unit or in multiple combination with manual or motorized drive.

It is possible to link two or more screw jacks by shafts, couplings and right angle gearboxes so that all the operations are perfectly synchronized. Our mechanical worm screw jacks are built for nominal loads from 0.5 to 150 ton divided into two production ranges:

S.E.L Series from 0.5 to 10 ton and S.E.P Series from 5 to 150 ton.

The S.E.P. jacks series start from an innovative project with a wing-like support that combines reinforcement and high heat dissipation surface.

The castings are made of spheroidal graphite EN-GJS500/7,obtained by the most modern foundry equipment allowing a better cohesion and constancy of micro molecular quality, with a lower possibility of cracks generation.

A plenty of lubricant can be held by the housing with the specific goal of reducing heating, keeping thus constant its features.

The worm gears are designed with optimized modules and pitch diameter, improving the mechanical features.

The helix angles and finishing of the worm screws allow the lubricant, during the rolling-sliding movement during matching, to penetrate into the flanks of the toothing, with consequent higher efficiency and lower heating.

The bronze used for the worm wheels is charged with self imbiber phosphorus, with the following advantages:

-elimination of pitting coming from stick-slip effect

-elimination of fretting as a consequence of the vibration friction, frequent in static loads.

These features reduce wear, improve mechanical efficiency and increase life time.

All the machining is particularly accurate from the point of view of tolerances, materials and quality of machine tools used.

This catalogue indicates the mechanical specifications of the mechanical worm screw jacks, in order to enable the user to choose the most suitable size for a requested application.
